APPLICATION OF TAGUCHI METHOD TO OPTIMIZE FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING PROCESS PARAMETERS FOR SURFACE ROUGHNESS

Surface quality is one of the limiting aspects additive manufacturing (AM). This paper presents findings from a study to optimize Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process parameters improve surface roughness printed test specimen. Taguchi 3⁴ and L9 orthogonal array were used design experiment. Samples models same size fabricated with an open source FDM printer using acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) material examined see structural differences. method S/N ratio means analysis was find optimum parameter for roughness. The results indicate that flow rate most influential towards better roughness, followed by layer height, printing temperature print speed. specimen found be rougher increase in levels rate. responsible unevenly aligned section deposited filament. It discovered optimal proses CR-10S Pro machine are 0.1 mm 90% rate, 230°C temperature, 35mm/s Thus, has proven useful approach optimizing parts.
